Frequency shifts in lfe piezoelectric resonators employing thickness-shear vibrations caused by changes in the electrode edge potential

Nedorezov S., Shmaliy O., Frequency shifts in lfe piezoelectric resonators employing thickness-shear vibrations caused by changes in the electrode edge potential // Proceedings of the Conference on Advanced Optoelectronics And Lasers. — 2005. — P. 219 – 221.
In this paper the mathematical model is discussed of the lateral field excited crystal resonator employing thickness-shear vibrations of the even anharmonic mode. The resonator is combined with a convex piezoelectric plate and with two one-sided electrodes of the relevant shape. Influence of the electrodes boundary on the frequency spectrum is taken into account for two principal cases associated with changes in the electrode edge potential. The first case of a large change in the potential gives a nonlinear relation for the frequency spectrum. We show that this spectrum differs from that obtained by the symmetrically placed two-side electrodes; that was discussed in detail in many papers. In the second case, the solution was found employing the perturbation theory. It gives an addition to the frequency spectrum, which is determined by the electrode shape and can be used for electrodes of an arbitrary shape. |
